College Scholarships for Military Kids

2018 College Scholarships

Military Families! It’s scholarship application season. If you are looking for funding, then take a look at these local scholarship opportunities tailored specifically for military college bound students. #Milkids

The Michaels Educational Association, April 12 deadline.
Open to high school seniors and graduates living in communities managed by the companies of The Michaels Organization, including The Villages at Belvoir. Information and application link, Printed application packets are also available at Community Management Offices.

Belvoir Thrift Shop
The thrift shop has $1,000 scholarships available, 2 p.m. April 25 deadline.

Applications are available at the Belvoir Thrift Shop during regular business hours: Tuesdays through Thursdays, and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Applications will not be mailed or emailed. Eligibility is verified at the Thrift Shop when blank applications are picked up. Parents may pick up applications for their students.
Open to ID card holders who are graduating high school seniors or unmarried undergrad students, with an association or volunteer history with Belvoir, with a 3.25 or higher GPA.

The Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce College Scholarship

Fort Belvoir Community Covenant partner, Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce is awarding at least $12,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the Mount Vernon and Lee Districts and graduating seniors who reside on Fort Belvoir.

Students applying for the scholarships must plan to pursue further education in a business-related field. Applicants must submit an essay with the application and a copy of their high school transcript. The application deadline is Friday, April 27, 2018.

Students may apply online at or call 703-360-6925 to request an application. Scholarship applications are also available at The Villages at Belvoir Neighborhood Community Management Office.

Belvoir Enlisted Spouses’ Club Military Dependent College Scholarship

Each year, the Belvoir Enlisted Spouses’ Club helps high school Seniors and collegiate hopefuls get one step closer to a college degree. The Belvoir Enlisted Spouses’ Club is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1980 by a small group of women who saw a need in their community and decided that, together, they could make a difference.

Over the last 30 years, the Belvoir Enlisted Spouses’ Club has given out hundreds of thousands in college scholarships to both high school seniors and military spouses.
