Rear Admiral Ann M. BurkhardtRear Admiral Burkhardt first flag assignment was as Director, 21st Century Sailor Office (OPNAV N17), Arlington, Virginia. She was responsible for the integration of the Navy's objectives for equal opportunity, Sailor personal and family readiness; physical readiness; substance abuse prevention; suicide prevention; sexual harassment and sexual assault prevention and response; hazing prevention, and transition assistance to provide Sailors with the support network, programs, resources, training, and skills needed to overcome adversity and thrive. Burkhardt assumed the duties of Director, DoD Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (DOD SAPRO) on 5 April 2017.
