Safety Office Mission

MISSION

Assist the Garrison Commander to eliminate, or reduce to the minimum, accidental losses to personnel, facilities, equipment, and mission capability, through leadership and the application of composite risk management principles and techniques.

FUNCTIONS

  • Provide common safety support to all personnel on Fort Belvoir
  • Provide common safety training to all personnel on Fort Belvoir
  • Conduct Safety and Occupational Health [SOH] compliance inspections of USAG facilities and operations and designated tenant organizations
  • Support the investigation and reporting of accidents.
  • Review plans for new construction, renovation, and modification of facilities to engineer-out safety deficiencies.
  • Maintain required accident/hazard logs
