REENLISTMENT OPTIONS

"My reenlistment window opens soon, what options will I be offered?"

 


 

The Army currently offers six (6) reenlistment options.  Not everyone qualifies for every option, so get with you Unit Reenlistment NCO or Career Counselor to see what YOU qualify for.

 

Option 1 - Regular Army

This option carries no guarantee of assignment, training, or stabilization.  Soldiers will be assigned and utilized according to the needs of the Army.

    •  You can choose to reenlist for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 years.

 

Option 2 - Current Station Stabilization

Guarantees up to a 12-month period of stabilization.

    •  CONUS soldiers who reenlist for 3 years, stabilization starts on date of reenlistment.

    •  CONUS soldiers who reenlist for 4, 5, or 6 years, stabilization starts from old ETS.

 

Option 3 - Army Training (For Initial Term Soldiers and Overstrength MOSs)

Guarantees attendance at an available service school for PMOS/SQI/ASI or language.

    •  You can choose to reenlist for 4, 5, or 6 years. (3 years for CMF 11, 12, 13, or 19)

 

Option 4 - Overseas

Guarantees assignment to one of the following overseas areas of choice:

Korea, Pacific (Short or Long tour), Alaska, Caribbean area, Europe or Hawaii

    •  You can choose to reenlist for 4, 5, or 6 years.

Note:  You cannot reenlist for Germany, just Europe.  Germany is not guaranteed.

 

Option 5 - CONUS Station-of-Choice

Guarantees assignment for at least 12-months at a CONUS station of your choice.

    •  You can choose to reenlist for 3, 4, 5, or 6 years.

 

Option 6 - Korea and Return

Guarantees assignment to Korea with a guaranteed follow-on assignment to one of the following locations:

Forts Bragg, Campbell, Carson, Drum, Hood, Lewis, Polk, Riley, Stewart or Europe

    •  You can choose to reenlist for 3, 4, 5, or 6 years.
