The main gate to Fort Belvoir will be closed temporarily from 9 p.m. – 5 a.m. nightly, Monday through Thursday only, from June 20 – July 1, 2011. The J.J. Kingman Gate located off of Fairfax County Parkway (Route 7100) will be the temporary 24-hour access gate for all traffic entering or exiting Fort Belvoir after hours.

The nightly closure is necessary for construction crews to install a sewer system along the post’s Pohick Road from Route 1 to Theote Road.

Pence Gate on Belvoir Road will be open each night for an additional hour until 10 p.m. for entry to the post by vehicles with DoD vehicle decals, and for vehicles to exit post.
