Fort Belvoir has been approved for coverage under the Virginia Small
Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) general permit for discharges of stormwater outfalls that are not associated with industrial activities.  A copy of the general permit can be found at http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp504.exe?000+reg+4VAC50-60-1240. Section IIB of the general permit requires the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) to meet the measurable goals of six minimum control measures.  Fort Belvoir's MS4 Program Plan identifies BMPs that will meet the measurable goals of the six minimum control measures.  In addition, annual reports are required to be submitted to the Commonwealth of Virginia that document the progress that has been made on the measurable goals of the six minimum control measures that are identified in the MS4 Program Plan.

The MS4 Program Plan and annual reports are being made available to meet
the BMPs identified under minimum control measure #2, "Public involvement/ participation".  Comments on the MS4 Program Plan may be submitted to Department of Public Works (DPW).
